Me F.S. Liverman, a member of the Bar since 1974, is a third generation lawyer whose grandfather started practicing in 1921. All were graduates of law at the Université de Montréal. Me Liverman practiced law in downtown Montreal for thirty years until he moved his practice to the West Island about twelve years ago to accommodate a number of lawyers in the area who were relying on him for their litigation. He joined the office with Me Carl Gelber in 2005. Me Liverman has carried on a litigation practice covering commercial and corporate law, personal injury and malpractice liability, property, estates, non-unionized labour law, criminal (limited to DUI, drugs and sexual and physical assaults) and family law. As senior trial attorney for the firm, he provides a wealth of knowledge to the firm’s trial lawyers whom he supervises and mentors. He of course continues to litigate major trials.
Gina Bergamin joined our Cabinet in June of 2015. As an experienced receptionist and administrative assistant, Gina coordinates our office functions and keeps the Cabinet running smoothly. Beyond her client-interactive receptionist duties, Gina serves as our office’s bookkeeper. She is tasked with greeting the clientele, answering calls, invoicing clients, and maintaining the finances in order.
Prior to joining our team, Gina was employed five years at the engineering firm SDK & Associates, where she held similar duties. Gina is warm and friendly; detail oriented, and takes pride in work well done.
Carl Gelber began his career with the firm now known as De Grandpré Chait after obtaining his law degree from the Université de Laval in 1969. He was admitted to the Bar of Quebec in 1970. He has since litigated multiple cases relating to civil, estate, matrimonial and criminal issues. Corporate administration has equally become an active part of his practice.
In 1975, Me Gelber opened his own practice in the West Island area serving Montreal, West Island and surrounding areas. Prior to his studies in law, he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) at the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) at what is now known as Concordia University.
With the addition of his senior partner, F.S. Liverman, in 2005, our office is now well equipped with two associate attorneys and four paralegals. Me Gelber is managing partner of the firm.
Celine LeBlanc was born and raised in Montreal, and is fluently bilingual. She started working at Cabinet GELBER LIVERMAN as part of her internship with CDI College in August 2015. In January 2016 she graduated with an ACS certificate in Paralegal Technology, and was hired to work as a full time paralegal. She has three years of experience in the administrative field where she developed excellent organizational and communicative skills. Her daily tasks include communicating with opposing lawyers, their administrative assistants and with our clients, drafting legal proceedings and managing the court calendar.
Celine also conducts a children’s choir at St-John Fischer Church and spends her weekends working at the retirement residence “Vent de L’Ouest”. Prior to choosing a career in law, she worked as a Landsports G.O for Club Med in Turks and Caicos where she performed in Broadway shows and circus acts including flying trapeze and aerial acrobatics.
